Finding images

For this assignment, you will need to find images to add to your poster.

Here are a few great starting places to start.

Finding Maps

Find Images

This resource is great for finding maps, photos and more!

YOU DO NOT NEED TO CITE THESE IMAGES IN NOODLETOOLS.

YOU DO NEED TO INCLUDE A STATEMENT LIKE THIS: “All images are from Britannica Image Quest and are rights-cleared for educational use. ” in your presentation.

Of course, any images found via Google or other image search sites still need to be properly cited.

Instructions for Using Flickr

Remember that when searching for images in Flickr, we use the Advanced Flickr Search

1.  Click on "photos only"
2.  Click on "Only search within Creative Commons-licensed content "

*If you don't want to worry about checking the CC image license for each photo, check the second box, "Find content to modify, adapt, or build upon"

3.  Once you find an image, click on the image. Then click on "view all sizes" to download the image AND to look at the CC license for the photo.  You want photos that have the "attribution symbol" (looks like a small i) and noncommercial use (dollar sign with slash through it).

4.  Be sure to name each photo and save in one location on your home directory or flash drive. It helps to get the info about the photos creator too.
