Reference Materials

Items from our Reference collection can be used to explore and develop your topic, to supply background knowledge, and assist with fact-checking.

Reference books can get you started quickly in practically any subject. They can also help you begin your more in-depth work. Prescott Library's Reference books are stored on the main floor of the library near the western wall.

Along with general Reference sources like Encyclopedia Britannica and the yearly World Almanac, there are also Reference books with a more specific and detailed focus. Topic specific Reference books often include longer and more detailed articles pertaining to the subject at hand. These latter types of resources are ones you should consider using for your project. Our print Reference collection includes encyclopedias on the Sixties, and US Pop Culture.
